Production methods of FRP, wet contact and dry compression molding

The production methods of FRP are basically divided into two major categories, namely, wet contact and dry compression molding. According to the technical characteristics, there are hand paste forming, laminating, RTM, extrusion, molding, winding and so on. Hand paste is characterized by the use of wet resin molding, simple equipment, less cost, one can paste more than 10m of the whole product. The disadvantages are low mechanization, long production cycle and unstable quality. In China, the technology and equipment of extrusion, spraying and winding are introduced from abroad. With the development of FRP industry, the new technology will appear continuously.

FRP name glass fiber reinforced plastic. It is a composite material with glass fiber and its products (glass cloth, tapes, felt, yarn, etc.) as reinforced material and synthetic resin as a matrix material.
